Following today’s announcement from the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office that the UK will not be attending the ‘Durban IV’ conference commemorating the 20th anniversary of the 2001 UN’s conference against racism which quickly turned into an antisemitic and anti-Zionist hate fest, making it the antithesis of its stated purpose, ZF Acting Chair said:

The Zionist Federation of UK and Ireland welcomes the Government’s announcement that it will not be attending the Durban IV conference, the 20-year commemoration of the first UN Conference Against Racism in Durban, 2001 which itself quickly descended into the antithesis of anti-racism, with a disproportionate focus on Israel, and the genesis of much of today’s anti-Zionist rhetoric and activity.

The Zionist Federation stands against ALL forms of racism and that includes anti-Semitism.
In taking this decision, Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his government have ensured that the UK continues to stand on the right side of history against the pernicious globally rising scourge of anti-Semitism.
