This week, the legendary Israeli food critic and TV food personality Gil Hovav began his UN national tour in London organised by the WZO and ZF.
Gil entertained the audience with stories about the Israeli fixation on humus, as well as how humus has been used as s source of conflict by a group in Lebanon and then proceeded to make some humus based upon a recipe from Gil’s favourite Humus joint in Jerusalem, Akwamari, an Arab-owned humus bar across the street from the Damascus Gate. The evening finished with a very entertained and eager audience sampling Gil’s humus with pita and pickles.
